Dattch is an app which helps you to find women in your area. It alerts you to other Dattch users who are around and allows you to browse their photos and profile, and then to get in touch if you’re interested. This is a great way to find local women who might be interested in getting to know you a bit better, whilst on the move.

The app itself has a simple design and it Is very user friendly. Whilst users should be aware that the app could sap a mobile battery (as it uses GPS to locate other members) the overall effect is smooth and natural. If you’re out with a few friends in a bar or just going for a quick coffee, you can easily see all of the other Dattch women in your locale and get in touch to see if they’d be interested in chatting or meeting up. Users are able to upload multiple photos and to update their profile with recent events. This means that the app allows you to react to your current situation quickly and easily, rather than maintain a stagnant profile. As such women are able to see the sorts of things you do and the kinds of places you enjoy visiting, as you visit them.  

One of the key benefits of Dattch is its security. Although it uses Facebook to check that its members are genuine women, it will not post to your Facebook wall. You have to register by sending a Facebook message to Dattch, and can add members by inviting them. Subsequently signing up is a little slower and a bit more particular, but this does mean that you can be more certain that the women on Dattch are going to be there for the right reasons and aren’t simply men in disguise.

In terms of other features, this app is somewhat lacking. You can’t perform searches, as such, and things such as videos or forums are not available. However being able to update it as you wish makes it somewhat addictive as you get a sense of where people are and what they are doing, possibly giving a better idea of their personality than many sites’ profile pages will accomplish. What’s more, it’s completely free to download and use!

We would certainly recommend Dattch if you’re looking to meet women in your area, and are interested in keeping up to date with what people are doing and where they’re doing it. For a more traditional online dating experience where you can search for particularities and utilise a greater variety of features, however, we might advise looking elsewhere. The mobile device specifications might also prohibit some potential users from accessing the app at all. If you do have one of the compatible devices and are looking for an updating, modern way of finding women then this could be the one for you!
